Modern Slavery Statement
Modern Slavery Statement for Man and a Van Dulwich
Man and a Van Dulwich is committed to conducting its removals and logistics operations in a responsible and ethical manner. This Modern Slavery Statement sets out our commitment to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking in our own operations and throughout our supply chains. It applies to all staff, workers, contractors, agency personnel, and suppliers engaged by Man and a Van Dulwich.
Our Zero-Tolerance Approach
We have a clear and strict zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of modern slavery, including forced labour, debt bondage, human trafficking, child labour, and any exploitation that denies individuals their freedom and dignity. We do not and will not knowingly engage with any organisation or individual involved in such practices.
All employees and contractors are required to act with integrity and to uphold this policy at all times. Any behaviour or practice that conflicts with this commitment is treated as a serious breach of our standards and may result in disciplinary action, termination of contracts, or reporting to relevant authorities where appropriate.
Our Supply Chains and Supplier Standards
Our supply chains include providers of vehicles, fuel, packing materials, equipment, storage facilities, cleaning services, and labour agencies. We expect all suppliers and business partners to share our commitment to preventing modern slavery and to operate in line with applicable labour, employment, and human rights laws.
We aim to work only with reputable suppliers who can demonstrate responsible labour practices. Where possible, we favour long-term relationships, which enable better visibility and monitoring of working conditions. We clearly communicate our expectations regarding ethical conduct and modern slavery prevention during the onboarding of new suppliers and contractors.
Supplier Audits and Due Diligence
To reduce the risk of modern slavery in our operations and supply chains, we undertake proportionate due diligence when engaging new suppliers and periodically review existing suppliers. This may include assessing company policies, requesting supporting documentation, and, where appropriate, visiting premises to observe working practices.
We reserve the right to conduct checks or audits, either directly or through independent third parties, to verify compliance with our modern slavery commitments. If a supplier is found to be in breach of these standards, we will work with them to address issues where possible. If satisfactory improvements are not made within a reasonable timeframe, we may suspend or terminate the business relationship.
Training, Awareness, and Responsibilities
Responsibility for overseeing this Modern Slavery Statement and its implementation lies with the senior management of Man and a Van Dulwich. Managers are required to promote awareness of the risks of modern slavery and to support staff in understanding their responsibilities.
Relevant employees, particularly those involved in procurement, recruitment, and supplier management, are provided with guidance to help them identify potential warning signs of exploitation. We encourage a culture of openness in which concerns about unethical behaviour can be raised without fear of retaliation.
Reporting Concerns and Whistleblowing Channels
All staff, contractors, and suppliers are encouraged to report any suspicion or concern relating to modern slavery or human trafficking connected to our business or supply chains. Reports can be made to a line manager or a senior manager, in person or in writing. Concerns will be treated seriously, investigated promptly, and handled as confidentially as practicable.
No individual will suffer any detrimental treatment for raising a genuine concern about modern slavery, even if it is not ultimately substantiated. We will take appropriate action in response to any confirmed instances of exploitation, which may include reporting the matter to law enforcement or relevant regulatory bodies.
Monitoring, Review, and Continuous Improvement
We are committed to regularly reviewing the effectiveness of the steps we take to combat modern slavery in our business and supply chains. This statement and the supporting procedures are reviewed on an annual basis, or more frequently if required by changes in legislation, business activities, or identified risks.
As part of our continuous improvement efforts, we will consider feedback from staff, suppliers, and other stakeholders, and will update our risk assessments, training, and due diligence processes where necessary. Our goal is to strengthen our controls over time and to help promote fair, safe, and respectful working conditions for everyone connected to Man and a Van Dulwich.
